The Life and Times of 'James P. Erickson'

Here’s how this works; every girl grows up thinking about what Disney Princess she’d like to be some day.  For some girls they don’t even have to think, they already know the answer to this question.  Now let’s ask a guy what he thinks…”What Disney Prince would you like to be?”  ”I can tell you what Disney Princess I have a crush on…but why would I care about being a Prince?”  And their you have it!  My Disney Princess Theory states that the Prince role receives no love from either the female or male demographic due to the fact that EVERYONE loves the Princess, not the Prince.

Happy October everyone!  My September prayer letter was just sent out today, so y’all should be seeing it pretty soon.  This was a big month for Mr. Erickson and I have lots to talk about (leave a comment with your email address if you’d like to receive that letter).  Today also marks the day in which I begin my Facial Hair Foto Shoot.  I’ll be going through 7 distinct shaves to create a mini album of facial hair, yes this is EXACTLY how I’d like to spend my Saturday afternoons.  We might also pop over to Disney for a big anniversary firework show tonight, who’s excited!

As some of you may know last week I was out of town in Minneapolis helping plan the Upper Midwest Christmas Conference, better known as TCX.  What an absolutely stunning experience this was, it’s hard to even put it in words.  I’ve never thought of myself as a person who’d be lost for words…but I would sit there for hours on end just listening and soaking up what was going on around me.  When I think about how much planning, preparation, persistence, and time goes into planning a TCX I really have to just sit back and say, ‘WOW’.  Thank you Lord for giving us hard working laborers who want to bring You to college students in the Twin Cities.  I feel honored to be among such highly trained and talented individuals, ok enough about that.

In conclusion I’d like to let everyone know that things here in theLAB are back on schedule.  Not that we were every NOT on schedule, but I certainly felt lost for a day or two.  Especially being out of town, can leave you with that feeling sometime.  You’ll here more about this in my prayer letter.  

PPF (Please Pray For) - A heart that desires to hear God.  I want to learn how to be quiet and just listen.  I’ve been learning over the last few years that this is easier said then done.  Also pray for our time at Disney, we’ve been having some really great conversations.
